Anderson County Clerk Sources
The Anderson County Clerk page identifies the county clerk office, which is useful because it shows the noncourt clerk distinction.
That county clerk source should not be treated as the custodian for District Court case files, but it helps readers avoid sending court requests to the wrong office.
The Kansas Self-Help fees page is the statewide filing-fee source for district court matters.
Local copy and certification amounts were not found in official Anderson County court sources, so the clerk should confirm those charges before payment is sent.
Anderson County Clerk Duties

The office supports public case searches, maintains court filings, routes certified-copy requests, receives filings, and helps with older or non-online records. Public district court case data may be online, but the clerk remains the practical custodian when a user needs a document image, a seal, a file not displayed online, or an explanation that a file is sealed or restricted.

Request Anderson County Certified Copies
Certified copies are used when a court document must carry official proof that it came from the court file. Divorce decrees, judgments, probate orders, guardianship orders, criminal disposition documents, and name-restoration orders are common examples. Kansas Case Search can help identify a case, but an online case entry is not the same as a certified copy.
- Search Kansas Case Search or gather the case number from a notice, decree, ticket, judgment, or prior filing.
- Identify the exact document needed, such as decree, journal entry, order, disposition, sentence, or letters.
- Call the Clerk of the District Court to confirm the file is available, public, and eligible for certification.
- Ask for the current copy, certification, search, postage, and payment requirements.
- Submit the request in person, by mail, or by another clerk-approved route.
- Keep the receipt and compare the certified copy to the requested case and document type.
Anderson County Request Fields
No Anderson County district court records request PDF was located in the official sources reviewed. A complete written request should still give the clerk enough detail to find the right file without searching across unrelated names or case types. If a case is sealed, expunged, juvenile, adoption, mental health, or protected by another rule, the clerk may limit what can be confirmed or released.

Anderson County Clerk Restrictions
The Kansas Open Records Act supports public access to public records, but clerk access to court records is not unlimited. K.S.A. 45-218 covers inspection requests and agency responses, while K.S.A. 45-221 lists records not required to be disclosed. Court-specific privacy rules, sealing orders, expungement, and juvenile laws may also control a file.
Juvenile files are a special example. K.S.A. 38-2309 requires separate juvenile official files and limits disclosure. Adoption, protected addresses, medical or mental health information, financial account numbers, Social Security numbers, and sealed criminal records may also be withheld or redacted.
Note: Ask for the public portion of a file when a full record cannot be released.
